Released in 1972, Aquaman was part of the first wave of World's Greatest Super-Heroes sold by Mego (alongside Superman, Batman, and Robin).

 WAVE ONE 

Type 1 Aquaman
Between 1971 and 1976, Aquaman was available on a Type 1 body with metal rivet joints. Type 1 Aquaman was sold in a solid box, window box, and on the Kresge-style card.

Early examples (solid box and 1st version Kresge card) can have yellow leggings. Some "transition" figures (one yellow legging and one green legging) have also been found.

Originally, Aquaman's outfit had "sewn sleeves," which later Type 1 examples lack.

Type 2 Aquaman
Between 1976 and 1983, Aquaman was available on a Type 2 body with plastic joints. Late examples have a vinyl belt emblem. Type 2 Aquaman was sold in a window box and on the standard card.

Aquaman's teen sidekick Aqualad was released as part of the Teen Titans in 1977.

Foreign Releases
Aquaman was produced for foreign markets and sold by distributors in Mexico (Lili Ledy) and Colombia (Rimax Carvajal). Unlike the other Wave One figures (Superman, Batman, and Robin), Aquaman was not produced by Basa in Peru.
