Released in 1973, Captain America was part of the second wave of World's Greatest Super-Heroes sold by Mego (alongside Tarzan, Spider-Man, and Shazam).
WAVE TWO
Type 1 Captain America
Between 1973 and 1976, Captain America was available on a Type 1 body with metal rivet joints. Early issue shields have a glossy sticker, while late issue shields have a matte sticker. Type 1 Captain America was sold in a window box, on the Kresge-style card, and on the standard card.

Type 2 Captain America
Between 1976 and 1982, Captain America was available on a Type 2 body with plastic joints. Later issue figures can have a fabric star and unsewn belt. Type 2 Captain America was sold in a window box and on the standard card.

Fist-Fighting Captain America
In 1975, Captain America was available on a fist fighting body with "Karate Kung Fu Action." Sold on a card in the U.K., Fist Fighting Captain America has a black button on his back that controls his arms. Some examples have "vents" in the suit under the arms.
Foreign Release
Captain America was produced and sold by distributor Lili Ledy in Mexico.
